On September 13th, 2017, select Cornell student startups will have the opportunity to compete for a spot in Cornell’s eLab accelerator program.  Winners can receive up to $1,000 in the eLab Pitch Competition, part of Entrepreneurship at Cornell’s Eship Kick-Off.

Startups should apply now to be considered to be one of the companies competing. Five startups will be chosen to pitch from those who have applied to the eLab program by 11:59 PM, Tuesday, September 5th.*

First prize is $1,000 and automatic entrance into eLab; second prize is $500. If you know of a Cornell student startup, let them know to apply now and take advantage of the opportunity. Competitors will have three minutes to deliver a pitch that briefly covers:

1. The problem they are solving

2. Who has the problem

3. How the problem is solved today

4. Market size

5. Why eLab is the next step.

Eship Kick-Off, a free event, takes place at eHub Kennedy on September 13th from 4-7 PM. The event will showcase a variety of entrepreneurship resources on campus as well as Cornell startup companies. For students and community members interested in seeing what the Cornell entrepreneurship community has to offer, this is a great event.

Last year, the competition included startups Vispio and PureSpinach — both eLab alums who are now busy continuing to grow their companies. Vispio is an educational technology company that provides engaging content fostering global competency and critical thinking about international issues while meeting subject and testing standards. PureSpinach provides better tasting, more nutritious spinach that is locally-grown, pesticide-free, available year-round.

Join us on the 13th at eHub in Kennedy Hall for a taste of what is to come from this year’s eLab cohort! We look forward to seeing you there.

*The final deadline for general eLab applications is 11:59 PM, September 25th.
