On September 10, hundreds of Cornellians filled eHub Collegetown for the annual Entrepreneurship at Cornell (EatC) Kickoff. The event encourages students to explore entrepreneurial pursuits and gives them the opportunity to connect with campus resources that can support them in their ventures.

In addition to networking and forging connections, the Kickoff also included a pitch competition between three standout student startups. The winner received automatic admission into the 2023-24 eLab cohort, in addition to a $1,000 cash prize. Jonah Gershon ’24, a student in the Nolan School of Hotel Administration, won the pitch contest with his product Spekld. Spekld is a form of brown butter that can be purchased in a stick similar to traditional butter.

Gershon was also a finalist in the inaugural Northeast Dairy Innovation Competition, and spent the summer working to perfect his product. Read more about the kickoff and find out more about the winning team here. Stay tuned to meet the rest of the 2023-24 eLab fall cohort!
